Dressage at Suffolk Showground - 13th June
The Dressage Competition run by the Deben Riding Club saw us back at the Suffolk Showground on Sunday 12th June. The ground had dried out making the going very slippery, which was not conducive to provide good dressage!
We had six teams there this year, for the senior open qualifier there were Emma Grove, Rachael Brown, Sarah Masterson and David Coles, with the best result for this team was Emma who came 2nd and because she was the highest placed rider in her area, not in the winning team, qualifies for the Championships in September at Lincoln.
The other senior open team of Anita Toye, Claudia Grist, Julia List and Caroline Steward unfortunately were unplaced, but still managed to produce nice tests. We had three senior novice teams, for the qualifier there were Julia List, Caroline Steward, Sarah Ann Jordan Gunn and James Smith, again unplaced but a nice result for Julia on Flossie.
The next team of Jackie Lambert, Jane Craigie, Sarah Chaplin and Rachel Brown faired much better and came 2nd in the Area 14 competition, and the final novice team of Sarah Moss, Julia List, Mandy Sawkins and Emma Wales produced an excellent result from Emma, so well done to her.
Our junior team of Latitia Goodchild, Anna Haley, Rebecca Rice and Kathryn Chaplin were placed 6th in the Area 14 competition, with good results for Leatitia and Anna in particular.
A big thank you to all who turned out. In particular to Julia List, Caroline Steward and Rachael Brown who filled in all the gaps in the teams. Rachael, who went home, pulled Wally out of the field and came back to do a second dressage test, a special thank you!
