Annual General Meeting
Winners 2011
Senior Points Winner - Anne Corke
Senior Points Runner Up - Julia Sheppard
Junior Points Winner & Club Member - Isabella Stagg
Mike Lloyds Has decided after some 32 years with the Finn Valley to retire from the committee.
We would like to thank him for all his hard work and dedication and sure Gill will keep him busy now!
JUNIOR RIDING CLUB TEAMS
During this year there have been several junior riding club qualifiers through out the region. Unfortunately the two Stagg girls have been our only junior members and so we have not been able to make up any teams.
They have been competing as individuals and have had a fairly successful time with Isabella Stagg winning the Style Jumping class at Geldeston and qualifying for the National Championships at Lincoln. Despite a very nicely ridden round Isabella came 12th – just outside the ribbons.
Hopefully next year we will have rounded up a few more juniors and be really competitive for the season ahead.

6-8
August 2010
Aston-le-Walls - Sponsored by South Essex Insurance

On the weekend of the 7-8th August three Novice team riders and one individual Open rider travelled all the way to Aston-le-Walls for the the National Champs.
Arriving Friday afternoon and setting up what was the largest tent on the field we got all the horses settled and set about planning the weekend. Louise Prowse and Pequeno Custard started their challenge on Friday afternoon with their dressage. Despite a few silly errors they scored an impressive 35 penalties. The Novice riders of James Smith, Hannah Gillott and Julia Smith did not start until the Saturday.
James was the first rider to start the Dressage on the Saturday and with Joseph being a little uptight they scored an impressive 32.6 penalties. Julia was next on her mare Hot Prospect and gained a good score of 38.3. Both James and Julia jumped a clear show jumping so were left overnight on their dressage scores. Hannah did not start her campaign until later in the afternoon but scored a good mark of 42 penalties but unfortunately rolled 2 poles SJ.
Louise was not on the XC until late in the day and was in fact the last rider to go on the Saturday. She had a storming round on the inexperienced Custard who came of age here producing a lovely round which was we all thought was clear only to be told that she was given 20 penalties at the water jump. This challenging course which included some of the CIC* jumps would have been very educational for Louise and Custard.
After a few drinks on the Saturday night after a successful day, James started the day off being the first to go XC. He had a blazing round and finished inside the time and picked up 2 penalties for going too fast. The Novice course time seemed easy to achieve and was not proving challenging to achieve. Julia was next on and had a great round on Hot Prospect but also had a blond moment and missed a fence!! This took the pressure off Hannah and Tig who jumped a lovely clear just outside the time.
In the mean time Louise and Custard finished their 3 day with a lovely clear show jumping. Despite a slight blip on the XC and impressive 3 day score for them.
James picked up 4th place in his arena and Hannah finished about mid way in her arena. Some impressive results and lots of fun was had. Lets hope we get there again next year with a full team!
Many thanks to all the helpers, Barbara, Fliss, Laura, Sophie and of course little Thomas and Molly!! Thanks also to Hannah for stepping in to take Anne Corkes place and sorry to Annabel who's horse went lame the week before who was going to replace the injured Arkamedes and Caroline.
