Senior Show jumping at West Somerton Hall - 22nd May
The Senior Show Jumping was held on Sunday 22nd May at Somerton Hall, which was right up on the Norfolk coast, under a wind farm, a new experience for most of the horses!
The novice team were the first on with Lynne Barrett, Caroline Steward, Krystina Fish and Sue Howis and although the team didn’t fair well, Sue Howis jumped a double clear, which was a great result for her.
The intermediates were next, and we had two teams, one for the qualifier consisting of James Smith, Sarah Ann Jordon Gunn, Julia List and Sarah Moss. The team had slightly mixed fortunes and finished in 6th place. The other team of Jill Lloyds, Sabina Goodchild, Carolyn Hammond and Jane Cragie faired much better, with notable rounds from Jill and Carolyn which out them in 3rd place.
Congratulations to the Open team of Julia Smith, Laura Nicholls, Maria Wickham and Jennie James who qualified for the Championships. Although the team did not perform to their best on the day. I am sure that their performance will improve at the final.
