Area Dressage
We had several new members out again competing at the Area Dressage at Stratford Hills. The day started out with the Senior Novice teams. We had a team of James Smith (16th), Jackie Street (11th), Jess Mace (2nd) and Joe Mace (6th). They all performed some good tests with Jess gaining 74% and coming 2nd individually. Overall the team were placed 3rd in what was a competitive field of nine teams! Well done. Jess qualifying as an individual.
Next up was the Junior teams of which we had two competing. Team Pink was Lauren Hassan, Shannon Curtis, Megan Hammond and Charlotte Long and Team Yellow was Tabby Wade, Dulcie Wade, Charlotte Wood and Imogen Hughes. All the girls performed some great tests with everyone leaving with bundles of rosettes! Lauren, Megan, Dulcie and Charlotte all won their arenas and Shannon coming 2nd. Team Pink won overall and qualified for the Nationals with Team Yellow finishing 3rd. Dulcie has also qualified as an individual. Overall this was a fantastic set of results for our new Junior riders this year. We wish the best of luck at the Lincoln Championships!
The afternoon was the Open teams which consisted of Laura Smith, Isabella Stagg, Shirley Stagg and Danielle Noble. We also had Krystina Fish riding Rosie Stevens’ horse Van Neolux. There was certainly some lively horses out there that looked like they would have been more suited going around the nearby XC course, but all contained themselves to gain some pleasing marks! Laura winning her warm up class on her coloured Goodie. Krsytina gaining two 5th places in her two Novice tests and Isabella winning both her Novice tests! Shirley rode an array of tests from Novice to Medium!
As well as dressage test Joe and Jess Mace rode in the Riding test class with Joe coming 5th on Rosie. They also rode a lovely pairs dressage test with Rosie and Smartie coming 3rd.
Overall a great day again for FVRC. Some qualifications to the championships but most of all lots of fun was had! Well done everyone.
