Two juniors took part Isabella Stagg coming 2nd in 100cm and Charlotte Long in the 90cm. Emma came 1st in her Arena and has qualified along with Shirley in the Senior 100+ and Isabella in the Junior section. We wish them the best of luck at the Championships which is on the 1st-3rd August at Swilcliffe Park, Banbury.
The day went well without any major problems and FVRC would like to say a very big thank you to all our helpers on the day we started at 8am and the jump judges did not come off the course till after 6.30pm, so it is a long day but they all came back smiling and happy to come back next year. A special thank you to the Army Cadets from Woodbridge who came to help for the first time this year, they were great and certainly would love them to help next year. Thanks must also go to Mike Lloyds not only was he Chief Steward for the day but he also sorted out the courses for us. Lastly must say thank you to James our Chairman for all his hard work in sorting out the entries and doing all the times, which is not an easy job!
Area Show Jumping
Despite the wet weather FVRC had another successful area competition. With several new riders out representing the club we were able to field two Intermediate teams and two individual Novice and Open riders.
Joe Mace (right) took part in the senior 75cm style jumping with just 4f at the last fence and Jess Mace competing in the Senior Novice. The two Senior Intermediate teams comprised of Julia Sheppard, Shirley Stagg, Lisa Kenyon and Emma Harwood coming first and then Amy Cranfield, Vicky Watts, Toni Watts and Simon Hazlem (Individual 2nd). Rosie Stevens jumped superbly in the senior open to win this in the jump off.
The Junior had a team of three in the Intermediate, consisting of Georgie Smith, Isabella Stagg and Lucie Gooch all jumped well with Isabella jumping well to finish 6th as an individual.
Julia Sheppard and Rosie Stevens also both contested the Senior 85cm Style Jumping with Julia just beating Rosie to finish in 1st and 2nd! We wish all riders the best of luck at the finals in September!
The last of the qualifiers were held at Stratford Hills on Sunday 6th July. we had two teams entered in the Prelim 12 as qualifiers, the FVRC Flyers came 6th, riding were James Smith, Rosie Stevens, Laura Smith, Caroline Steward, Caroline came 5th in her arena. In the second team we had Amy Cranfield, Jackie Lambert, Vicky Watts and Tony Watts, Vicki came 3rd in her arena.
