Area SJ 2016

We had several riders representing the club at the Area SJ. First to go were the Juniors tackling the Novice course. Sadly, things didn’t go to plan for Amelia Slater, Charlotte Johnson and Charlotte Wood (who took on the ride of a different pony last minute) but Connor Slater and To the Max just picked up 4f in the second round, so well done them.  The Junior Intermediate team of Jasmine Slater, Shannon Curtis and Dulcie and Tabby Wade finished 2nd the Beccles and Bungay who had a great two round score finishing on zero.

In the Style SJ the tram finished 3rd with Connor Slater 5th, Dulcie Wade 8th, Tabby Wade 5th, Jasmine Slater 2nd and Shannon Curtis winning the 85cm. Well done to all of them.

Then it was the turn of the Seniors. We had two 80cm teams entered. Shirley Stagg, Julia Hicks, Jess Mace and Joe Mace came 2nd with Joe 2nd individually. The other team of Kirsty Dawes, Jenny James, Diane Whayman and Kath McCabe didn’t complete as a team due to an elimination and one withdrawal in the second round. However, Jenny James finished 4th individually and Kirsty just picking up 4f in the second round.

The senior Intermediate team of April Brown, Isabella Stagg, Jenny James and Emma Harwood finished 3rd overall behind High Fen who finished on an impressive 4f over two rounds. with Jenny coming 5th Individually.

Lastly was the Senior Open team of Rosie Stevens, Isabella Stagg, Emma Sayer and April Brown. Sadly, April WD Bert so we were down to just three. Unfortunately, Emma’s horse was not feeling up to it and decided not to take part in the second round so it was down Rosie and Isabella who finished 1st and 3rd respectively. They will be heading to Lincoln as an Area 14 team so well done them.

Isabella will be busy at Lincoln after also winning the Senior 85cm Style SJ. The team of Jess and Joe Mace, Kirsty and Isabella finishing 2nd To Beccles and Bungay.

A very long and busy day but with lots of fun and success with some qualifications to the nationals so well done everyone!
