Combined Training 2018

It was a damp morning for the Combined Training qualifier held at the Anvil Stud on Sunday 8th April hosted by Carleton Riding Club. We had 5 teams entered which was amazing to see so many members out supporting the club. It also finished up to be a great day for Finn Valley.

The Pink team was Emma Sayer, Joe Mace on Ash Hill Blossom, Sarah Chaplin & Lisa Kenyon they all did lovely tests and only Sarah having 4 faults in the show jumping meant that the team came 1st. Emma also came 4th individually, Joe 3rd and Lisa 4th.

The Blue team was Shirley on Timatia, Chloe Fulcher, Jenny and Charlotte Long, great tests again and only 4 faults from Charlotte in the show jumping which meant they came 2nd. Charlotte also came 1st individually and Jenny 10th. The Yellow team was Shirley on Xerife, Joe Mace on Carillon, Sue Leggett and Julia Hicks, good dressage tests and only Joe having 4 faults in the show jumping. Joe also came 1st individually, Julia 5th and Shirley 8th. If coming first and second place wasn’t enough the Yellow team came 3rd.

The Green team was Luisa Edwardes, Becky De Bree, Jenny James on Billy Rocket and Joe on Willow. Nice dressage test, a few poles rolled in the show jumping and unfortunately Luisa withdrew her horse after dressage but they still managed to come 6th with Jenny coming 6th individually. The Red team was Sarah Chaplin, Maddie Girling and Anne Corke, unfortunately Emma Kelly had to withdraw her horse so only had team of 3. They all did good dressage tests a few show jumping poles went so unfortunately they didn’t get a placing.

As you can see it was a great day for Finn Valley taking home lots of rosettes and two teams qualifying for the championships. Well done to all; we're very proud of you.
