FOTH Eventer Trial Qualifier

April Brown

April Brown

The day started in Glorious sunshine for the show at Thorne Court; Finn Valley was represented by, Seniors April Brown and Florence Hughes for the FOTH Qualifying classes and Juniors Jasmine Hawkins and Jasmine Slater, and Imogen Hughes and Caitlin Pugh and then Emma Glover in 90 cm intermediate non qualifying class.

The course consisted on a big show jumping course and a very technical XC phase. April Brown rode her horse Little Bert in the Senior Challenge 100 individual, she was clear in the show jumping and rode an impressive act and was piped to first place by 0.4 of a fault and came an impressive second place.

April then rode her second ride Craughwell Lucy in Senior Challenge 90, April and Craughwell Lucy jumped a clear SJ round, and had two unlucky run outs on the XC phase. Emma Glover also rode in the 90 cm intermediate as on her horse Shamrock Manor, Emma rode an impressive clear round and had an unlucky refusal at a big Trakenner.

Unfortunately we had a broken down Lorry on the A12, with one of our senior members on board and two juniors, leaving us no alternative but to withdraw Florence Hughes on Lemonsfield Girl, Jasmine Hawkins on Catch me if you can and Imogen Hughes on Iceford Chester. This meant that the two remaining Juniors Caitlin Pugh and Jasmine Slater would run as individuals.

Jasmine Slater and Caitlin Pugh’s were in the Junior 90cm, unfortunately it was neither riders day this time.

Well done to all competitors, and bad luck to those on the broken down Lorry these things happen in our sport.
