FOTH Combined Training Qualifier 2017

We had several riders at the combined training, sadly no Juniors this time as it clashed with the Winter Champs and the Pony Club Hunter Trial.

We did have 3 senior teams and 2 individuals. The day started with everyone riding a dressage test and then followed by a round of jumps. The blue team of Julia Sheppard (16th), Shirley Stagg (11th), Isabella Stagg (1st) and Jenny James (4th) finished 2nd overall just beaten by Carleton. The red team of Jess Mace (12th), Molly Appleby (24th), Joe Mace (21st) and Emma Kelly (2nd) finished 7th and team pink of Jess Mace (12th), Anne Corke (13th), Sarah Chaplin (9th) and Kirsty Dawes (13th) finished 8th.

Our two individuals of Luisa Edwardes and Sue Leggett came 8th and 14th respectively.

Some great results from everyone and a special well done to Isabella Stagg for winning and Emma Kelly for coming 2nd!

FOTH Eventer Challenge Qualifier 2017

On Sunday 9th April, we had several club members competing at Stratford Hills for the Eventer Challenge. This is a round of jumps followed directly by the XC. Exciting for some of the horses and also a lot of confusion!

First up were the Senior 100 riders; James Smith and Isabella Stagg. James jumped a lovely double clear but picked up 10TP to finished 3rd and Isabella despite rolling a pole jumped clear XC to secure 2nd spot.

Next up was the Senior 90 who were down to just two team members. They both had a great day with Joe Mace and Smartie winning and Jenny James and Billy coming 3rd. We had one Junior 90 rider which was Dulcie Wade who rolled two poles in the SJ but jumped a lovely clear XC to finish 8th.

Last to go were the 80 riders. We had one junior and one senior team entered. The juniors were also sadly down to just three riders but this did not hamper them. Francesca Aitchison came 2nd, Imogen Hughes 6th and Tabby Wade 11th. The team finishing 2nd behind Beccles and Bungay!

The senior team of Julia Sheppard, Joe Mace, Shirley Stagg and Harriet Aitchison had a fantastic day winning the team event with Julia coming first overall, Harriet 7th, Joe 12th, and Shirley 15th.
