Finn Valley Riding Club 

It was a long but worthwhile drive to Aston Le Walls for the FOTH Eventer Challenge. We had one senior 80 team of Joe Mace, Shirley Stagg and Julia Sheppard. Sadly Harriet Aitchison had to WD due to injury. So down to three riders the pressure was on. Joe and Willow was first up and jumped a fantastic clear. Shirley took it steady having picked up lots of time penalties at the qualifier finished on a fantastic score of 0.8 to come 4th in her section. Julia was last to go and also flew around to finish clear. After a long wait for results and scores (which needed correcting) we found out we had finished 2nd on exactly the same score as the winners but we had a slower SJ time! Disappointed to not have won we were chuffed to finish 2nd with just the 3 of us!

Earlier in the day Joe Mace was also riding Smartie in the Senior 90 Eventer Challenge. Jumping a fantastic clear he finished 14th in his section on a score of 3.2.

 

On the Sunday Isabella Stagg was riding in the combined training.  She had a great day winning her arena! Well done Isabella!
