Winter Champs 2017

We had two members competing at the Novice winter dressage champs; Rosie Stevens and Shannon Curtis. Both had a great time and finished just out of the placings with Rosie in 13th and Shannon in 10th.  Well done to both of them.

We then had several riders at the Intermediate winter champs. First up was Shirley Stagg and Charlotte Long. Shirley rode in the advanced medium and despite finishing out of the top ten was pleased with her test. Charlotte had a great day finishing 3rd in the Novice. Well done to both of them.

On the Saturday it was the turn of the SJ team. We were drawn early to go with Joe Mace being the first to go. A spooky and technical caused forced a few poles to fall but Finn Valley were all on great form and finished the first round on a zero score along with 4 other clubs. The second round was bigger and again Finn Valley stepped up and we tied on equal zero with Tendring RC. This meant a tense jump off and all having to jump again for the win. Sadly it wasn't meant to be and it was just one pole too many that fell meaning Finn Valley finished 2nd. James, Sarah and Pip had to jump again for the individual title but with tired horses the poles fell too! A great day again for the club.

Lastly was Milly Butters riding in two dressage test on the Sunday. She had a fantastic time finishing 2nd and 4th. Well done to Milly!
