Winter Dressage Qualifier

It was a very cold and early start for some for the winter dressage, with some places having snow.

The Novice juniors were first and our team of Francesca Aitchison, Lauren Hassan & Shannon Curtis all did good tests, with Shannon coming 2nd, Francesca 3rd,   Lauren was just out of the placings in her novice test.  Lauren and Francesca also did Novice 27 and came 5th and 2nd respectively. The team came 2nd overall and just missed on qualification. Francesca did qualify as an individual though. Milly Butters was entered in the Intermediate qualifiers and did Prelim 7 and came 1st also Novice 30 and came 2nd qualifying for both.  Well done to them! Francesca also qualified as an individual riding N27. Well done to all.

The Senior Intermediates were in the afternoon. We had two teams Jenny James in the Prelim 7 came 5th; Shirley Stagg in the Novice 30 coming 6th; Charlotte Long in the Novice 34 came 1st; and Isabella Stagg 7th with the team coming 5th overall.

The Purple team of Harriet Aitchison in the Prelim 7; Jenny James Novice 30; and Shirley Stagg in the Elementary 49 came 6th.  Sadly the team were down to three as Caroline Steward had to withdraw. Charlotte did very well and qualified for the championships. Shirley Stagg also rode the Advance Medium as an Individual and won the class; qualifying for the championships.

On the Sunday it was the turn of the Senior Novice; we had two teams Finn Valley Blue of Joe Mace coming 11th; Jess Mace 20th; Emma Sayer 21st; and Luisa Edwards 7th.

Finn Valley Yellow team had Kirsty Dawes coming 5th; Molly Appleby 24th; Rosie Stevens 11th; and Tish Goodwin finished 14th. Overall in a competitive section the team came 5th.

Rosie Stevens entered the Prelim 2 as an individual and came 1st so qualified for the championships!

It was a long two days in the challenging conditions, the standard was high as always but congratulations to all of you who braved the weather and well done to those of you that qualified. We wish you all the best at the Championships.
