FOTH Championships
What a lovely weekend we have had at Aston! Quite a long journey but as usual a very well run event and Washbrook Farm, courtesy of Nigel Taylor, was looking magnificent in the Spring sunshine.

Due to a misunderstanding of the eligibility rules (!) only Joe Mace got to ride the Eventer Challenge course at 90 cms and he joined an Area 14 team. The show jumping course gave quite a few problems, especially with time faults, but Joe jumped a lovely round and just had one pole down and a clear cross country. His team came 9th.

The Combined Training was the following day. We had two teams: Joe Mace who replaced Chloe Fulcher, Shirley Stagg, Jenny James and Charlotte Long; Emma Sayer, Joe Mace, Sarah Chaplin and unfortunately Lisa Kenyon's horse was foot sore and couldn't go. We tried to replace her but there wasn't a stable free in time to take Holly and Isabella, so they ran on a team of three.

The dressage was very well run and it all took place on their surface. I think everybody was pleased with their horses in the tests.

The show jumping was a fair test and no particular jump caused a problem but a few poles went down and the time was quite tight. Unfortunately Jenny and Herald parted company on the course but they were both alright and everybody else jumped well. There were 32 teams competing and our team of four came 10th and the team of three came 19th. Charlotte got an individual 5th and Joe got two 10ths.
